Job Description

Title: National Sales Manager
Reports To: Senior Vice President
Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Location:  Corporate Headquarters, Clackamas, OR (non-remote position)

Position Function:
The National Sales Manager will be a key member of Wy’East Medical’s Sales Department and overall company management team as they work to aggressively execute the company’s revenue growth strategies while enriching its position as a leading provider of safe patient handling and mobility (SPHM) products and accessories.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies in collaboration with senior leadership
  • Lead and mentor nationwide sales and consultant team members to exceed sales targets, with team made up of a mix of independent sales representatives (1099s), safe patient handling consultants, sales administrators, and other support staff
  • Grow and manage team of Independent Sales Representatives nationally, including recruiting and negotiating collaborative contracts
  • Develop and execute strategies to enter and grow new markets and target customers
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in national and other major accounts
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending industry events; reviewing professional publications; establishing and growing personal networks
  • Recommend adjustments to retail prices by monitoring market conditions, trends, and competitors with a steady focus on increasing profit margins
  • Negotiate and close customer sales agreements in a collaborative manner, while maintaining focus on meeting company strategic plan and goals
  • Manage the negotiation and overall implementation of all other sales related contracts and agreements including, but not limited to, government contracts (such as Veterans Administration (VA) contracts, GPO contracts, and distributor contracts)
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze sales related performance metrics
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts
  • Coordinates high level customer interactions, ensures solid customer relationships, and conducts business development
  • In close collaboration with sales team, determine and oversee company participation and attendance for appropriate industry conventions, shows and events, including presentation of Wy’East Medical products for conferences, speaking engagements, B2B trainings, and other opportunities
  • Collaborates with Engineering and Operations on new product design, product enhancements and accessory design to ensure clinical appropriateness and patient safety
  • Systematically implements, drives change, improves, and sustains the quality and effectiveness of the Safe Patient Handling and Mobility program
  • Recruit and hire self-motivated team members exhibiting the traits of humility, hunger, and emotional intelligence
  • Design in collaboration with team, and keep current, all educational materials including, but not limited to, competency checklists, product tip sheets, clinical education modules, educational videos, distributor education and customer specific program components
  • Research and report on new business relevant healthcare trends, industry updates, and competitive landscape to senior leadership
  • Uses company CRM to track interactions with customers and potential customers, ensures appointments are up to date on shared Outlook calendar, completes detailed conference reviews following the events
  • Assures the department’s adherence to sound financial management practices, including booking travel arrangements in a conservative manner per company policy
  • Develop annual sales, marketing, and advertising budget in collaboration with senior leadership
  • Manage budget within established targets

Education and experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years sales experience, including 3 years’ experience managing a national sales team
  • Minimum 3 years sales experience in the healthcare industry
  • BA/BS degree (in a healthcare related field a plus)
  • Proven work experience as well as measurable achievements as a sales manager or director at the national level
  • Familiarity with the SPHM industry preferred
  • Experience with the medical device industry preferred

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push/pull up to 50 Lbs., along with bending and reaching as essential to the job
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license, clear criminal background, and ability to achieve fingerprint clearance, and ability to pass drug test
  • Maintains current vaccinations, willingness to obtain annual flu vaccine, TB test, COVID vaccine and other credentialing qualifications as required by customers
  • Ability to travel as necessary (up to 75%), including internationally on occasion
  • Ability to obtain U.S. passport
